Academy Update: Film Festivals, Radio Shows, Guest Appearances and More

It’s been a minute since we offered a straight-up Classic Couple Academy update. We’ve been up to some things, mostly interviewing an amazing roster of filmmakers whose work was shown at the the 2022 Tribeca Festival and the 2022 HollyShorts Film Festival. We’re thrilled to have covered these two film festivals as credentialed media.

Speaking of media credentials. In a few short weeks, two of us are heading to Toronto to cover the Toronto International Film Festival 2022. We’re thrilled to attend in person for a week and have great hopes to offer some of our Filmmaker 5 interviews and related coverage for you here. Be sure to check back for “from the festival” coverage.

Oh hey, we were also on the radio! Check out our chat with Movies Are Magic with Jennifer host Jennifer Churchill. It’s here as Episode 3; Betty Boop’s Birthday Extravaganza. Kami and Chris chatted with Jennifer about all things Betty Boop, with an extra measure of classic movie musings. We’re all about Betty, evidenced in our course, Betty Boop: Sexpot, Spinster, Icon.

We’re also cooking on a new Classic Couple Academy project and are in our “storming and forming” phase tossing out ideas and doing our research. Yes, we have homework at the Academy.

While we’re doing our homework this Fall, we’re looking forward to joining the fantastic folks at St. George Living History Productions on Monday, November 7 for a lecture titled “Disabilities in the Movies.” More to come as we create content with Sal and team that is sure to result in a lively discussion.

If you’ve followed us for some time, you know our Classic Couple Academy mascot is the slinky dog. Our ideas seem to grow and our love for film continues to expand. We look forward to more film explorations with you here. Keep coming back.
