New Lionsgate Horror-Thiller Release: Escape the Field

Six strangers awaken alone in a remote, endless cornfield. Stripped of their personal possessions, each has been been given a single item, nothing else save the clothes on their backs. Finding their way to one another, when the six come together, they realize they have only six items among them: a gun with a single bullet, matches, a lantern, a knife, a compass, and a flask of water.

As mysterious sirens blare in the distance, the group realizes it’s been plunged into a cat-and-mouse game with an unseen evil. Their survival depends upon working together to solve a diabolical puzzle. They must uncover the utility of the items they have been given to help them escape or perish as a deadly creature hunts them down one by one.

Director Emerson Moore, who wrote the film along with Joshua Dobkin and Sean Wathen, says, “The world of Escape the Field provides a glimpse into a world that demands action for survival–work together or perish–a world that you wouldn’t want to set foot in. This film takes place in the very near future; it uses societies norms as guidelines for right and wrong, but quickly develops its own set of rules.”

The fear is inescapable and the suspense nonstop in this gripping horror-thriller, opening in select theaters, on digital and on demand May 6, 2022. It’s a suspenseful ride from beginning to end as characters are reduced to rely on their most basic instincts to survive. Says filmmaker Emerson, “At its core, Escape the Field, is a thriller horror with beautifully flawed characters that allow for the exploration of fear and how it affects each of them. They have been thrust into a world that each of them will deal with differently, for some the choice will be compassion and understanding–while for others deceit and deception, all the while maintaining the through-line for group–survive at all costs.”

Escape the Field viewers step into a dark and dangerous game with a strong ensemble cast delivering thrilling performances in an 88-minute cinematic escape.
